Over the last several decades Warren and Cheryle have worked with a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, councils, government agencies and businesses across Australia to build sustainable communities through the non-for-profit organisation – Connections.
Because of their outstanding work in community development and their passion for helping people, Cheryl and Warren were approached to consider a new challenge; to provide a working solution towards reducing homelessness in communities.
In 2010, in response to the increased need for temporary emergency accommodation in Sydney, they established a non-for-profit charity – Providential.
During the course of operating Providential over the last 10 years the organisation has continued to work closely with many government agencies, social services, businesses and other support networks in order to address the triggers that brought people into homelessness. It has been through these ongoing partnerships that Warren and Cheryl gained a comprehensive understanding of these issues and root causes of rejection, abuse and trauma, that people struggle to gain freedom from.
Through Providential Warren and Cheryl have continued to exercise their passion in helping people by providing over 1000 meals per week, housing up to 18,000 people per year in NSW, providing furniture and goods for free to those in need, and providing opportunities for people to participate in up-skilling programs, volunteering programs, and Feeding the Homeless BBQ’s.
Cheryl and Warren are now bringing together a culmination of over 40 years of work in Education, Community Development and Emergency Housing sectors around Australia to launch The Restoration Centre. Our aim is to help see peoples lives being transformed.
Warren and Cheryl’s passion is to see lives restored and understand that a persons willingness to face and deal with these roots is usually the most significant key to moving into freedom. The Restoration Centre will provide people with a way to gain freedom and victory by showing them how they can change and find lasting purpose for their lives.
