OUR PROGRAM

restoring people to live victoriously

The Restoration Centre is a Christian-based restoration program that focuses on building a strong community of individuals who are determined to set new directions in their lives, their relationships, and their futures.

Our program focuses on restoring people by addressing the root causes, engaging our participants in a practical way to restore all areas of their lives, including finances, employment, education and relationships.

Restoring people who live victoriously helps to bring healing to families which creates a stronger community.

We actively work with the families of participants also as family and community play an important role in supporting participants in our centre along their journey towards restoration.

How does the program work?

The Restoration Centre program contains four milestones that our participants will progress through during their time in the program.  The Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association recommends a staged program and community integration for rehabilitation programs. As such we have broken down the growth and development of participants into 4 key milestones marking the progress and achievements of participants on their journey to restoration.

Each step of our program is called a ‘milestone’ as we believe that each step a participant makes towards the next milestone marks a significant event in their life.  When a participant reaches their next milestone it is celebrated with the people who love and support them.

Core Elements of the Program

This program has been developed with the participants in mind from the outset. It is based upon Christian principles and positive reinforcement. It aims to build solid foundations on which participants can be empowered to take responsibility for their own journey, with our team alongside them. Elements of this program include:

  • A minimum 12 month live-in residential restoration program consisting of four Milestones that guide participants journey. Length of stay will vary between participants depending on the individual’s requirements, outcomes and progression.
  • Family support program aimed to rebuild relationships and family support networks
  • Outreach community program to help integrate participants back into society and a chance for people to give back to the community
  • Education and training on issues participants may be faced with on their journey to restoration
  • Network support program of internal and external services and other agencies there to help participants succeed
  • Aftercare support program as our support does not stop the moment participants complete the program

We are here to help and support those who find themselves in need of our services. The breakdown of a persons life, and associated issues that develop as a result, are a serious concern faced by society today. We are here to help where we can. The first step is getting in touch.

MILESTONE ONE

This is the first step participants must take on their journey to restoration and achieving these milestones along the way. This milestone is all about stripping back the layers, finding out who you are inside, your value to this world, and who you are in God’s eyes. This milestone usually takes a minimum of 90 days, but varies dependant upon the individual.

During this milestone mentors are allocated to participants, and the real processes of bringing restoration can begin. Residents begin to participate in a wide variety of programs which help set the foundation for the journey ahead, including the “Standing Tall” transition pathway where we assist each resident to plan their finances, career, study pathways, and how they want to see their lives restored.

MILESTONE TWO

After achieving their first milestone, participants will begin their transition back into regular life, dependant upon their transition plan and goals developed during Milestone One. This step in their journey includes an increase in responsibilities, new programs, and new opportunities for participants to rise up. Pathways for future training and employment begin, assistance in financial planning also commence. This is a chance to begin building upon those foundations that participants constructed for themselves in Milestone One.

MILESTONE THREE

Milestone Three is a major milestone. Responsibilities in taking control of ones life and circumstances have increased significantly. During this milestone greater tools and resources will be provided to participants to help achieve their goals, greater interaction with external services and support networks will be offered, and ongoing skill development continues. Leadership potential will also be explored and participants will be actively participating in community or church outreach programs.

MILESTONE FOUR

While achieving every milestone is celebrated at The Restoration Centre, reaching this milestone holds particular significance as participants have achieved many of their own goals as developed in Milestone One. Participants are relatively independent and their foundations have been soundly built upon. Milestone Four participants also are able to encourage and mentor participants in other levels, helping others succeed by standing on their shoulders. It is an exciting time for participants of Milestone Four to stand firm and give back to others who are just beginning their journey.

This milestone will see participants modelling their lifestyle and behaviour as if they were living life independently and outside of our centre, putting into practice what they have learnt, continuing to develop and rebuild relationships with their loves ones and utilising the various coping mechanisms developed to overcome the challenges of everyday life. Our team will be there every step of the way, but now walking alongside participants rather than guiding them through this journey.

AFTER THE PROGRAM

Once a participant has completed the program, feels ready to journey on, with the support and blessing of their mentors, counsellors, and staff,  the participant successes in their milestone journey will be celebrated in the presence of their peers and family.

The Restoration Centre believes building and developing an ongoing relationship with participants. We value each individual and want to see them continue to succeed in life so encourage all participants to maintain relationship and communication with us, no matter how long ago they completed their program with us, so we can continue to provide ongoing support and fellowship through life’s challenges that may arise.

We also have a wide network of support agencies and services, relationships developed over numerous decades, that are there to also offer support if needed.

FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Family Support Program aims to provide safe, supported and educated delivery of information to families or identified support people attached to The Restoration Centre program.

The Family Support Program offers a wide variety of support and information forums, including:

OUR COMMUNITY CULTURE

The Restoration Centre Community Outreach program is another way we help participants integrate with the wider community, enabling a greater sense of place and purpose:

  • Create an awareness of what we do and how the community can be involved.
  • Will aim to establish partnerships with local churches, agencies, businesses and other service providers and supporters.
  • Will assist residents in their journey and return to independence by providing a way for them to engage and participate in various community programs
